I’m an industrial designer in Cleveland Ohio with 15 years experience in prototyping and product development.
As a board game designer I always target 3 key details:
Low learning curve – First-time players should be able to read and understand the game within 10 minutes so they can start having fun as soon as possible.
Table presence – I want my games to be noticeably different from across the room, as well as curiously intriguing up close.
Unique mechanics – The goal is unconventional originality; if other board games are all bicycles, I want to try and be a pogo-stick.
